The Canadina Nationals were held in Canmore, Alberta on July 22, 2017. Holden finished 3rd in the U-19 Expert Men category. This podium finish also means he is selected to go to the World Mountain bike Championships in Cairns, Australia in September, 2017 to ride for Canada.

The UCI Mountain Bike Worlds will be hosted in Cairns, Australia, from Sept 4-10, 2017. Holden will be joining the Canadian Team to race in the Junior (U19) Men Category on September 7. Canada Summer Games, Winnipeg, Manitoba, July 29-August 5, 2017
Team BC athletes left Vancouver on Thursday, July 27 to head out to Winnipeg for the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Holden will be racing with the Men's 3-person Mountain Bike team, comprised of Squamish riders Sean Fincham, Rhys Verner and Holden Jones. They will race in the XCO event on Sunday July 30; the Team Relay on Tuesday, August 1; and, the Individual Sprint on Thursday, Aug. 3.

Canada Cup Series Final and BC Championship race, June 24, 2017
The final race in the Canada Cup series was held on June 24th in Whistler, along with the BC Cup Championship XCO race. Holden finished 1st in the U-19 expert Men category, giving him a 2nd overall in the Canada Cup Series, and taking the BC Provincial Championship jersey for 2017.

Cycling Canada's National Development Coach, Ian Hughes, invited Holden to join the 2017 European Junior Development Team for a 2 week project in Austria and Germany. Holden will race in the UCI Junior XCO Series at the Ötztaler Mountain bike Festival, in Haiming, Austria on Sunday, April 23; and, in the UCI Junior Series in the Heubach "Bike the Rock" XCO race in Germany on Sunday, April 30.

Holden just returned from a great 2 week camp in Southern California, racing in the US Cup #1 in Fontana on April 2 (11 Place), the US Cup #2 in Bonelli Park on April 8 (2nd Place) and the Kenda Cup Short track in Bonelli Park on April 9 (10th Place).
